Calder's Universe is Zolan's debut album of all original compositions. Drawing upon works written between 2015 and 2019, the music represents a wide span of Zolan's developmental phase as a composer. The title track, Calder's Universe, was the first piece to be written out of the six. It is dedicated both to Zolan's father who passed in 2009 and to Alexander Calder who was his father's favorite artist. The other compositions are evocations of influential musicians and composers who had a profound impact on Zolan. Traces of The Meters, James Brown, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Mulgrew Miller, and others can be heard throughout.

The band consists of Zolan's frequent collaborators: Brian Charette on organ and Jordan Young on drums. The trio works consistently throughout NYC with frequently appearances at 55 Bar (RIP), The Roxy, The Wayland, Groove, Cellar Dog and other venues around the city.
